When the prestigious "2006 ACT Project of the Year" was awarded at the Australian Institute of Project Management Awards Ceremony in Canberra, Australia, ASFT's Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI) developers were there to stand with the entire Royal Australian Navy Submarine Combat Systems project team. The IMI component of the larger project, developed by ASFT, is used in electronic classrooms, where trainers and students simulate necessary maintenance procedures, without costly laboratories. Simulated tasks range from turning switches on and off (with associated indicator lights and other behavior) to Operating System boot sequences and logins to equipment cabling to equipment removal and replacement. IMI modules are able to track student progress, displaying results on instructor panels. By combining Adobe Flash, JavaScript, and XML programming skills with advanced graphic design skills, ASFT was able to build an open platform IMI that is now used at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Rhode Island and the Navy Submarine School in Connecticut. "This has proven to be a successful solution to reduce the Navy's capital investment in laboratory and tactical training equipment."

Today, ASFT continues to be a leader in the development of Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) for the United States Navy as well as the Royal Australian Navy. Combining their artistic skills, technical knowledge, and subject matter expertise, ASFT's Multimedia team is helping to pave the way for the future of e-classroom learning.
